This is not an incredibly positive journal...But I need to get this off my chest!
I had a conversation with

over the weekend on a day trip out in the country and we began to talking about songs that we personally found annoying yet somehow regarded as classics by the general public. Here's a list of my songs that I personally cringe...
I'm not listing Macarena, or "This is the Song That Never Ends". Those songs are easy game.
They are not in order from bad to really bad. I just wanna list a few...
1. Foghat - "I Just Wanna Make Love to You."
Damn, coming back to work while listening to the radio on a Monday morning going to work doesn't set me in the mood for making love...Seriously, why does this song come on the radio during such a mundane time of the week?!?! I hate the guitar in this song. It's a tune that stays in my head loooong after it's done being played after once in a month.
HOWEVER, Foghat ain't all a bad band. Listen to "Slow Ride". AWESOME SONG!
2. John Mayer - "Waiting for the World to Change."
This song sucks!! Working in Telluride in 2007 while driving people around with the radio on, it had seemed that this song played at least three times an hour! GEEZ! The record companies seemed to use this song as a cash cow. Don't get me wrong, I liked it when I heard it the first fifty times on the radio and on MTV. But when you hear this ten times a day, it really becomes aggravating.
John Mayer great musician. This song...

3. Jethro Tull - Everything made by him.
Sorry guys. If you like the guy and the music, that's all good. Doesn't change my thinking about you at all.
But seriously, rock and roll with a flute?! Damn. I cringe every time I hear that 60's guitar solo when I hear, "Sitting on a park bench!..." Migraine alert!
4. Neil Young - Great music! Whiny, moany, rip-my-ears-off voice!!
That's all I need to say about that. Yet the voice seemed to fit "Heart of Gold"
5. Rush - What is with Geddy Lee's (the lead singer's) voice?!?!

Does he have his pants too tight?! After listening to them, I need to hear something like Barry White. The songs are way to philosophical for me to really enjoy the music. When I first heard their songs from a classic radio station, I honestly thought it was Yoko Ono or a woman singing while in a vibrating chair.
6. Eminem
What more needs to be said? I'm glad I haven't listened to his stuff for years.
7. Black-Eyed-Peas - "Let's Get it Started"
Dammit. Why is it that when one car company needs to use a song like this one they all seem to need the SAME FRICKIN' ONE FOR THEIR ADVERTISEMENTS?!?!....click...

....BANG!!

8. Baha Men - "Who Let the Dogs Out?"
Honestly, the first time I heard it, I hated it!

Anyway, there's a few. What songs annoy you?
