Random Favourites

Here are a few of my 100 favorites (I have given myself a 100 favorites limit). I've dedicated my gallery of favorites to those devaitons who have displayed hard work, progression, creativity and are simply awesome! They also may show a bit more of who I truly am.

Four years later and life lessons learned.

Thank you to all those who have visited my page for the last four years! And have left meaningful comments instead of simply faving and running like the whole community seems to do nowadays. (Fave and runners get my blood boiling...Do they really CARE about my artwork or NOT?) Anyway, thanks for leaving comments!

As you can tell, I'm not moving fast at all with pageviews. It's really sad compared to people who've been here one year and already have 20,000. I'm not naming folks. Forty deviations (15 colored?) later and I'm still here with just a few people commenting on every small deviaton that I've put on here monthly.

But hell...I STILL ROCK!

But, I guess that shows the artist (or hobbyist artist) that I really am.

I came on to DA with a dream of drawing a lot, but I think that dream is slipping away. I was inspired by artists called Manuella Cote, Soraia Pereia, Jay Axer and other old Team Artail artists who drew much. I've been playing way too many video games to get much done like these professionals do. It's strange, I had no passion for art in high school. It could've been the classes I took and the subjects I drew within the class. It felt so mundane and I didn't open up my mind to the fact that there were artists all over the world drawing anthro! Anthro was what I drew when I was relaxed at home! Then I had the passion for art! It took a few years later when I was in a college anime club to get my passion reved up again for drawing.

I've traveled an awkward and emotional road to become a better artist. I've tried to have conversations with the artists that I looked up to, but with much failure. Never getting a reply back to a enthusiastic e-mail or comment to there page always kind of gave me a heartbreak. I was saddened when I never had a reply, because I wanted to be a friend of theirs. Like some sort of an internet anthro-drawing pen pal. I think I've also sent some e-mails that probably went over the line in trying to be friends, but I'm glad I didn't go way TOO far. Maybe far, but not TOO far. (Creepy huh? I think I creeped one artist out so bad that they refuse to reply back to me. Yeah, I've learned my lesson.)

Over the years, I've learned some valuable lessons from drawing. And from drawing, I've learned some on internet sociality. I might hurt some feelings, but I'm throwing it out there.

1.) No matter how hard you try or how well you think of yourself as an artist. Some people just won't talk to you.

2.) True friendships are hardly ever found on the web. I've tried for years. It never happened for me. The best friendships, in my opinion anyway are the ones in person. You can pick up a person's tone and body language without relying on a itty bitty emoticon to express a true emotion.

3.) Being a kiss ass to other artists is easy to detect after years of being here on DA. After realizing this, I feel embarrased about kissing ass to the artists I looked up too. It feels a lot like the lesson about "don't bullshit the bullshiter".

4.) If some person simply doesn't like you or what you do. Don't wine about it or show'em that they beat you mentally. Just blow 'em off. This helped me in offline and online.

5.) It's HARD work to get your name known!

These are my lessons learned from become a sheltered kid into becoming a small time artist here on DA. In a way, my experiences here, I believe, have given me a sense of my own character. It feels really rewarding.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and please keep watching me!
